Beat procrastination and live happier: four practical steps.

by | Mar 29, 2020

Procrastination is just the opposite of living life to the fullest. We can live in a much better world if people do what is important to them and live according to their values. Procrastination is connected to anxiety and depression. The more you procrastinate, the less you believe in yourself. The more you fail, the bigger is the chance you fail even in the future. One failure can undermine your productivity because it goes down your mood. When your mood is down you’re unable to push yourself to do another task and on and on. It keeps on repeating and it’s really dangerous in terms of mental health. After meeting & interviewing the most influential leaders in this planet, I’ve discovered one thing they all said was quiet proven to be true. Integrating the right habits and routine will make you happy and fulfill. It is important to set every day one simple task that is outside of your comfort zone.

If you make a habit outside of your comfort zone, your will power is growing gradually and constantly. You’ll be surprised you’re able to resist temptation, you’re not able to check your social media accounts often, and your will power is growing. I believe that you don’t need to experience the same to change your life. You can change yourself and live life to the fullest! Most people have procrastinated at some point in time in their life. Whether it was that essay you didn’t want to write in college or that business meeting you kept putting off, procrastination is something that we all have done. Unfortunately, procrastination is a destructive trait. When we put off things that we know we need to do, we wind up feeling worse than if we just sat down to do them in the first place. It should come as no surprise, then, that most successful people have kicked this habit to the curb. You can kick this habit too! If you want to stop procrastinating and start getting ahead in life, here are four practical steps.

Step #1: Figure Out What Is Valuable To You

Sometimes procrastination can be our minds telling us that this activity doesn’t align with our overall goals. Maybe you’re putting off that meeting with your employer because you’re too busy wanting to be an entrepreneur! Find a quiet space and contemplate your goals and aspirations.

Step #2: Track Your Habits

Track your habits in a spreadsheet or an app. Put in the practices that you want to have (e.g., spend two hours per night building the business). Then use the app or spreadsheet to keep track of these habits to ensure you develop them as a routine. One of the biggest reasons why people procrastinate is that they haven’t developed the habit of doing the work with consistency. By tracking your habits, you’ll improve that skill.

Step #3: Create Daily Overviews

At the beginning of each day, create an overview of what you want to accomplish. Be realistic and develop the habit of achieving everything in your to do list. By focusing on your daily plan, you can also help break down your goals into smaller sub goals, which you can gain satisfaction from achieving every day.

Step #4: Train Yourself To Act

Think about what the people you look up to do. They act! When faced with a tough situation or a moment when you want to procrastinate, think of your heroes, and be decisive!Stop Procrastinating On Ending Procrastination Using the four steps above, you can end any tendency to procrastinate. Instead, build the habit of achieving your goals every day!
